Description
The Cisco GLC-BX40-U-I is an industrial-grade 1000BASE-BX SFP transceiver designed for long-range, single-fiber Gigabit Ethernet deployments. Operating over a single strand of single-mode fiber, this upstream (U) bidirectional module supports distances of up to 40 km, making it ideal for service provider, utility, transportation, and industrial network environments.
This SFP uses wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) technology, transmitting at 1310 nm and receiving at 1490 nm, and must be paired with a compatible downstream (D) BX40 module on the opposite end of the link. With an extended industrial temperature range and Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) support, the GLC-BX40-U-I delivers reliable performance and real-time optical diagnostics in harsh operating conditions.
