The Cisco GLC-BX40-D-I is a 1000BASE-BX40 downstream SFP transceiver designed for long-range, single-fiber Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Operating at a 1550nm wavelength with a reach of up to 40 kilometers, this module enables efficient bidirectional communication over a single strand of single-mode fiber, reducing fiber infrastructure costs.
Built for industrial environments, the GLC-BX40-D-I supports extended temperature operation and delivers reliable performance in harsh conditions. It pairs with a corresponding BX40 upstream SFP to provide stable, long-distance links for service provider networks, industrial Ethernet deployments, and enterprise access networks.
