The Cisco SFP-10G-ER-S is a 10GBASE-ER SFP+ optical transceiver designed for long-distance 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over single-mode fiber. Operating at a 1550nm wavelength, this S-Class module supports link distances of up to 40 kilometers, making it ideal for metro, campus backbone, and service provider deployments.
Built in a compact, hot-swappable SFP+ form factor, the SFP-10G-ER-S enables high-density network designs while maintaining Cisco-tested reliability and performance. It supports digital optical monitoring (DOM) for real-time diagnostics and is optimized for cost-effective, long-reach applications where Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) is not required.
