The Edgecore AS7716-24SC is a powerful open networking 100GbE coherent switch designed for service providers and data centers that need to extend and modernize metro and long-haul DWDM networks. With a 3.2 Tbps switching capacity and hybrid packet transponder architecture, it combines high-performance switching and optical transport functions within a single compact 1.5RU chassis.

Powered by Broadcom’s StrataXGS™ Tomahawk™ Plus silicon and an Intel® Xeon® D-1518 4-core CPU, the AS7716-24SC delivers flexible and programmable connectivity for 100G applications. It features 16 x QSFP28 Ethernet ports and 8 modular line card slots, supporting coherent DSP-based optical modules for high-capacity metro transmission.

The system supports ONIE (Open Network Install Environment), enabling seamless deployment of commercial or open-source Network Operating Systems (NOS). With MACsec security, redundant power and fans, and support for coherent DCO line cards, the AS7716-24SC ensures scalability, flexibility, and secure performance for modern optical and data center infrastructures.
