The Chief CMS492P2 Ceiling Storage Box is designed to discreetly conceal AV equipment above a standard 2' x 2' suspended ceiling tile, delivering a clean, professional appearance for classrooms, conference rooms, and collaboration spaces.
This powered ceiling enclosure features an integrated dual-gang power housing with isolated ground and dual receptacles. The built-in SurgeX® non-sacrificial, multi-stage surge suppression and filtration system protects sensitive AV equipment from power disturbances, high-frequency electrical noise, and transient voltage events—helping extend equipment lifespan and reduce downtime.
Co-developed with SurgeX, a brand of AMETEK® Electronic Systems Protection, the CMS492P2 combines secure above-ceiling storage, robust power protection, and efficient ventilation in a lightweight, installer-friendly design suitable for professional AV environments.
