Description
The Cisco NIM-4FXSP is a high-density 4-port Foreign Exchange Station (FXS) network interface module designed for Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers. It enables direct connectivity for analog devices such as phones, fax machines, and PBX systems while supporting enterprise voice and unified communications deployments.
This module includes an onboard digital signal processor (DSP), eliminating the need for separate voice DSP hardware and enabling advanced voice features such as echo cancellation, caller ID, fax relay, and multiple codec support. The NIM-4FXSP supports online insertion and removal (OIR), allowing upgrades or replacements without powering down the router.
Ideal for branch offices and distributed voice environments, the NIM-4FXSP delivers reliable analog voice integration with centralized management through Cisco IOS XE software.
