The Cisco QSFP-40G-SR4-S is an S-Class 40GBASE-SR4 QSFP transceiver designed for short-reach, high-bandwidth data center and enterprise networking applications. Operating at 850nm over multimode fiber, this module delivers reliable 40 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity using parallel optics across four lanes.
Built for environments requiring consistent performance and density, the QSFP-40G-SR4-S supports distances of up to 100 meters on OM3 fiber and up to 150 meters on OM4 or OM5 fiber. It utilizes an MPO-12 connector for efficient parallel fiber connections and is optimized exclusively for native 40G operation, without support for 4x10G breakout configurations.
