The Edgecore AS5712-54X is a high-performance Top-of-Rack (ToR) or spine switch designed for modern enterprise and cloud data centers. In a compact 1RU form factor, it delivers full line-rate Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching across 48 × 10 GbE SFP+ ports and 6 × 40 GbE QSFP+ uplinks—supporting flexible configurations such as 4 × 10 GbE breakout per QSFP+ port.

Powered by an Intel Atom C2538 2.4 GHz quad-core x86 processor, the AS5712-54X ensures fast control-plane performance and compatibility with leading open-network operating systems, including Cumulus Linux®, Open Network Linux, OpenSwitch, PicOS™, Big Cloud Fabric™, Netvisor®, and FlexSwitch.

This bare-metal switch supports dual −48 V DC redundant hot-swappable power supplies and 4 + 1 redundant fan modules with power-to-port airflow, delivering high availability and serviceability. VXLAN and NVGRE tunneling are supported in hardware for network virtualization in cloud and multi-tenant environments.

Ideal for data center fabrics built on open standards, the AS5712-54X enables a cost-effective, scalable, and future-proof infrastructure aligned with the Open Compute Project (OCP) ecosystem.
