The Cisco NCS2K-9-SMR17FS-L is a licensed 9-port Single Module ROADM line card designed for flexible, software-defined DWDM optical networks. Built for compact, high-performance deployments, this module integrates wavelength selective switching with pre- and booster amplification in a single-slot form factor.

Optimized for short to medium fiber spans, the 0–17 dB gain variant supports colorless, contentionless, omnidirectional, and flex-spectrum (CCOFS) networking. This enables rapid wavelength provisioning, dynamic restoration, and scalable mesh architectures without manual fiber reconfiguration.

Ideal for metro, regional, and core optical networks, the NCS2K-9-SMR17FS-L supports pay-as-you-grow licensing, allowing operators to activate ports and flex-spectrum capabilities as network demand increases.
