Designed for the CX 5420 modular Layer 3 switch chassis, this Smart Rate line card delivers secure, high-speed wired access with support for up to 90W IEEE 802.3bt Class 8 PoE—ideal for powering access points, IoT devices, and more.

Built on a Gen7 ASIC architecture, the module enables ultra-low latency switching (2.5 µs) and throughput of up to 714 Mpps. The CX 5420 Series offers Virtual Switching Extension (VSX) for nonstop operations, MACsec-ready hardware, and simplified management via AOS-CX, Aruba Central, and CLI or GUI interfaces.

With industry-leading analytics via the Network Analytics Engine (NAE) and seamless integration with HPE GreenLake and Dynamic Segmentation, this module delivers future-proof scalability and security-first networking—all in a compact, modular design.
