Description
The Edge-Core DCS500 AS7816-64X-O-48V-F-R is a high-performance, open-network Top-of-Rack (TOR) or spine switch built for modern hyperscale and enterprise data centers. Equipped with 64 x QSFP28 ports, each supporting 100G or 40G Ethernet—and via breakout cables, up to 4 x 25G or 4 x 10G links—it provides full line-rate Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching.
Powered by the Broadcom StrataXGS Tomahawk II silicon and an Intel Xeon D-1518 CPU, the DCS500 delivers exceptional throughput and programmability for data center fabrics. This open switch comes preloaded with ONIE (Open Network Install Environment) for quick deployment of compatible Network Operating Systems (NOS), including both open-source and commercial options.
Designed in a 2RU form factor with dual -48 VDC power supplies and front-to-back (port-to-power) airflow, it ensures reliable operation and energy efficiency in high-density environments. With redundant hot-swappable PSUs and fan modules, the DCS500 provides carrier-grade resilience and long-term uptime for mission-critical infrastructures.
