The Edgecore AS7946-74XKSB-O-AC-F (AGR420) is a high-performance 25GbE aggregation router designed for telecom and data center environments. Built on the Broadcom StrataDNX™ Qumran2C platform with an external BCM16K lookup engine, this 2RU router delivers 2.4 Tb/s of switching capacity in a compact form factor.
Featuring 64 × 10G/25G SFP28, 8 × 100G QSFP28, and 2 × 100G QSFP-DD ports, it supports a wide range of applications such as OpenBNG, pre-aggregation, PE routing, and ToR deployments. The system runs the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), enabling flexible installation of open-source or commercial Network Operating Systems (NOS).
Engineered for carrier-grade reliability, the AS7946-74XKSB-O-AC-F includes 1+1 hot-swappable AC PSUs, 4+1 redundant fans, and front-to-back airflow. It supports SyncE and IEEE 1588v2 PTP for precise timing and synchronization, making it ideal for disaggregated edge routing or virtual broadband gateway (vBNG) deployments.
