Description

The Edgecore Minipack AS8000-O-AC-F-US is a high-performance, open modular 100G chassis switch designed for modern data center fabrics and service provider central offices. Built on the Broadcom Tomahawk 3 chipset, it delivers 25.6 Tbps of full-duplex switching capacity and 19 billion packets per second forwarding rate, meeting the demands of large-scale, high-radix 100G networks.

Supporting QSFP28 non-blocking ports, each interface can flexibly provide 1×100G, 2×50G, 1×40G, or 4×25G/10G connectivity. The Minipack AS8000 integrates Intel® Xeon® D-1527 2.2GHz CPU, 32GB DDR4 memory, and redundant hot-swappable 1500W AC power supplies with port-to-power airflow for efficient cooling and service continuity.

Pre-loaded with ONIE (Open Network Install Environment), this platform allows deployment of open-source or commercial Network Operating Systems, giving operators the flexibility to run their preferred software. The system’s modular design simplifies maintenance, reduces cabling complexity, and optimizes power consumption, making it ideal for next-generation leaf/spine architectures, Ethernet aggregation, and internet exchanges.
