The Cisco SM-X-16FXS/2FXO is a high-density analog voice and fax service module designed for Cisco ISR 4000 Series routers. It provides 16 FXS ports for analog devices and 2 FXO ports for PSTN or PBX connectivity, enabling seamless integration of legacy analog telephony into modern IP-based voice infrastructures.
This single-wide SM-X module features onboard DSP resources, eliminating the need for separate voice DSP modules while delivering enterprise-grade voice services such as echo cancellation, DTMF detection, fax relay, and multiple codec support. It supports online insertion and removal (OIR), helping reduce downtime during upgrades or maintenance.
