The Cisco DS-X9648-1536K9= MDS 9700 48-Port 32-Gbps Fibre Channel Switching Module is a high-performance SAN line card engineered for large-scale, mission-critical storage environments. Designed for Cisco MDS 9700 Series Multilayer Directors, this module delivers predictable, non-blocking performance to support modern all-flash and NVMe over Fibre Channel workloads.

Equipped with 48 autosensing Fibre Channel ports supporting speeds up to 32 Gbps, the module provides an aggregate full-duplex throughput of 1.536 Tbps per slot, enabling high-density connectivity for enterprise data centers. Built-in inline analytics powered by an onboard network processing unit delivers real-time visibility into Fibre Channel traffic, including latency, IOPS, throughput, and workload behavior.

The DS-X9648-1536K9= supports advanced SAN services such as VSANs, Inter-VSAN Routing (IVR), port channels, QoS, and comprehensive security features. Hot-swappable design and support for hot-swappable SFP+ transceivers ensure high availability and simplified maintenance, making this switching module ideal for scalable, resilient, and future-ready storage fabrics.
