Description
The AudioCodes M4K60/MPM8 Media Processing Module (MPM) is a field-replaceable hardware upgrade designed for the Mediant 4000 E-SBC. This module adds eight additional Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) to significantly increase the system’s transcoding capacity.
By integrating the MPM, the Mediant 4000 expands its processing capabilities from the base 350 transcoding sessions to a total of up to 1,050 transcoding sessions, depending on DSP feature sets in use. This enhancement supports growing enterprise and carrier-grade session requirements while maintaining high performance in complex VoIP environments.
To activate transcoding with these additional DSPs, the appropriate transcoding software license must be purchased separately. The module requires minimum software version 6.60A.216.005 or later.
This spare part is ideal for scaling Mediant 4000 deployments, upgrading capacity in the field, or adding redundancy in high-availability topologies.
