Description
The NVIDIA Mellanox MAM1Q00A-QSA28 is a QSFP28-to-SFP28 adapter, also known as the QSA28. It lets a single-lane SFP28 transceiver, AOC or DAC cable plug into a quad-lane QSFP28 port on a switch or network adapter. The adapter has a QSFP28 form factor with an SFP28 receptacle and routes the high-speed data channel of the SFP28 to lane 1 of the QSFP28 connector.
The adapter conforms to SFF-8665 on the QSFP28 side and SFF-8402 on the SFP28 side. It provides a direct path to the SFP unit's memory and is vendor agnostic, which makes it useful for integrating equipment from different vendors. It is also qualified for 10GbE SFP+ and 1GbE SFP transceivers that meet the SFP MSA. The adapter draws a maximum of 0.1W and includes a built-in EEPROM for product identification.
