The Cisco ONS-SC-PTP-1510 is a precision timing DWDM SFP optical transceiver designed to support Precision Time Protocol (PTP) transport across Cisco NCS optical and routing platforms. Operating at the 1510 nm wavelength, this pluggable optic enables highly accurate timing distribution over DWDM networks while minimizing phase delay and timing asymmetry.
Built for carrier-grade environments, the ONS-SC-PTP-1510 supports Fast Ethernet (FE) and Gigabit Ethernet (GE) operation and is optimized for bidirectional PTP transmission when paired with complementary PTP optics and passive OSC-PTP filter modules. This design allows both timing directions to traverse the same fiber, preserving clock integrity across long optical spans.
