Description
The Cisco NCS 4206 Shelf Assembly (NCS4206-SA) is a compact, carrier-class modular chassis designed for metro aggregation and legacy network migration. Built for service providers modernizing TDM, SONET/SDH, and packet transport infrastructures, the NCS 4206 delivers high-density circuit emulation, OTN, and Carrier Ethernet in a space-efficient 3RU form factor.
This shelf supports up to six interface modules and dual route switch processors, enabling flexible configurations for MPLS, IP, and Ethernet services. With redundant power, modular cooling, and extended environmental tolerance, the NCS 4206 is well suited for central offices, edge aggregation sites, and space-constrained deployments. Its architecture allows operators to scale bandwidth, preserve legacy services, and transition seamlessly to packet-based transport networks.
