The Perle SMI-1000-S2ST120 is a high-performance Gigabit Ethernet IP Managed Standalone Media Converter designed to extend copper network connections over long-distance fiber links. Supporting 1000Base-T to 1000Base-X fiber conversions, this device enables seamless connectivity between RJ45 copper Ethernet and 1550nm single mode ST fiber for distances up to 120km (74.6 miles).

Engineered with advanced management capabilities, the SMI-1000 series provides IT professionals with flexibility, control, and reliability. Features include SNMP, CLI (Telnet/SSH), secure HTTPS web access, and centralized management through PerleVIEW. Enterprise-grade security is ensured with TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, SNMPv3, and encryption support.

With smart features such as Smart Link Pass-Through, Fiber Fault Alert, Auto-MDIX with Skew Correction, VLAN transparency, jumbo frame support (up to 10KB), and remote loopback testing, this converter ensures maximum uptime and easy troubleshooting.
