The Cisco SFP-10G-BX40U-I is a 10GBASE-BX bidirectional SFP+ transceiver designed for long-distance, single-fiber connectivity in enterprise, service provider, and industrial network environments. Operating over a single strand of single-mode fiber, this module transmits at 1270 nm and receives at 1330 nm, enabling efficient wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) for distances up to 40 kilometers.
Built for industrial temperature operation, the SFP-10G-BX40U-I delivers reliable 10 Gigabit Ethernet performance in demanding conditions while reducing fiber infrastructure requirements. It supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) for real-time diagnostics and is hot-swappable for simplified installation and maintenance. This transceiver must be paired with the corresponding BX40D module to form a complete bidirectional link.
