The Edgecore DCS500 AS7816-64X-OZ-AC-F-US is a high-performance, open network switch built for modern data center spine and top-of-rack (TOR) deployments. Featuring 64 QSFP28 ports, each supporting 1×100 GbE or 1×40 GbE—and via breakout cables, 4×25 GbE or 4×10 GbE—the DCS500 delivers non-blocking Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching at line rate.
Powered by the Broadcom StrataXGS Tomahawk II (BCM56970) ASIC and an Intel Xeon D-1518 quad-core processor, the switch provides 12.8 Tbps full-duplex throughput and 4.2 billion packets-per-second forwarding performance.
With dual hot-swappable 850 W AC power supplies and 3 + 1 redundant fan modules, this model ensures high availability and reliability. The port-to-power airflow design supports front-to-back cooling for optimized data-center efficiency.
Pre-loaded with ONIE (Open Network Install Environment), it allows seamless installation of open-source and commercial network operating systems (NOS). The 2RU design provides all-front data interfaces with rear-accessible power and fan modules for easy servicing.
