Description

The Edge-Core AS7816-64X-OZ-AC-B-US (DCS500) is a powerful, open-network data center switch designed for high-performance Top-of-Rack (TOR) and spine architectures. Equipped with 64 × QSFP28 ports supporting 100G and 40G Ethernet (plus 4×25G or 4×10G via breakouts), it ensures full line-rate Layer 2/3 switching driven by the Broadcom StrataXGS Tomahawk II (BCM56970) ASIC.

Powered by an Intel Xeon D-1518 2.2 GHz quad-core processor with 16 GB ECC DDR4 memory, the switch offers enterprise-grade performance and programmability. It comes pre-loaded with ONIE (Open Network Install Environment) to simplify deployment of compatible open source or commercial network operating systems (NOS).

Designed for maximum uptime, the unit features dual hot-swappable AC power supplies, 3 + 1 redundant fans, and Power-to-Port airflow for efficient cooling in data-center environments. Delivering 12.8 Tbps switching capacity and 4.2 Bpps forwarding rate, the AS7816-64X series delivers scalable, non-blocking performance for next-generation open data center fabrics.
