The Cisco UCSX-I9108-100G-D Intelligent Fabric Module (IFM) delivers high-performance, lossless 100Gb unified fabric connectivity for the Cisco UCS X9508 chassis. Designed as an extension of the fabric interconnect, this IFM eliminates the need for switching inside the chassis while simplifying cabling, management, and scalability across UCS X-Series environments.

The UCS 9108 100G IFM provides up to 3.2 Tbps of total chassis I/O bandwidth, connecting compute nodes to Cisco UCS 6536 Fabric Interconnects through eight QSFP28 100G ports. Internally, it supports flexible 100G or 25G connectivity per compute node, enabling optimized bandwidth allocation for modern, high-density workloads.

Installed in redundant pairs, the module also manages chassis components such as fans, power supplies, environmental monitoring, and system LEDs, removing the need for separate chassis management modules. Integrated with Cisco Intersight and UCS Manager, the UCSX-I9108-100G-D enables centralized, policy-based management across the entire UCS domain.
