The Brocade BR-X7GEN6ICLKIT-100M-1 Gen 6 UltraScale Inter-Chassis Link (ICL) Kit delivers high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity for linking Brocade X7 Directors to Gen 6 and Gen 5 platforms.
Each kit includes one ICL Ports-on-Demand (POD) license and eight 4×32 G Short-Wavelength 100 m QSFP optics, providing scalable, high-performance connections between chassis in mission-critical SAN fabrics.

Designed for data-center scalability, this ICL kit reduces cabling by a 4:1 ratio compared with traditional SFP inter-switch links (ISLs) while preserving front-end FC ports for servers and storage. Supporting connectivity at 32 G to X6 Directors and 16 G to DCX 8510 Directors, it enables flexible deployment in both core/edge and mesh topologies.

The integrated POD license activates 8 ICL ports per chassis (4 per core blade). Up to four kits can be installed to fully enable all 32 ICL ports on an X7-8 Director (two kits for an X7-4). Built on Brocade’s UltraScale architecture, the kit supports ClearLink diagnostics for proactive link health validation and ensures optimal SAN performance and resiliency.
