Built on the Cisco 8000 Series architecture, it delivers up to 6.4 Tbps of system throughput in a compact 2RU chassis, offering exceptional scalability through four high-performance Modular Port Adapter (MPA) slots.
Each MPA slot supports up to 1.6 Tbps, enabling flexible port configurations ranging from 1G to 400G using a wide selection of pluggable optics. The platform is optimized for routed optical networking (RON) and supports advanced breakout options to maximize port density and investment protection.
Powered by Cisco IOS XR, the 8712-MOD-M provides a carrier-grade operating system with high availability, programmability, and automation capabilities.
